Last night was the last day for the NDA for one particularly interesting news bit that we are aware of because… we are the part of them. It probably will be interesting to all iPhone users, especially for those who use iPhone (and iPod touch for that matter) as a portable game station.
Yes, we are talking the games first of all. Probably you’ve already heard the rumors about Apple’s plans to open special section of the App Store where all premium expensive games are going to be sold, to separate from the generic stuff for .99. So these rumors appear to be true — this section of the store indeed will be opened and it will be called Game Store.
We can’t tell you the exact day when it’s going to be open. However it’s not all — the important part of the new store will be a product developed by Ripdev — Kali Anti-Piracy!
Apple has decided to license Ripdev’s Kali Anti-Piracy to protect titles in the premium Game Store from illegal copying and distribution. All applications (there will be known titles like Need For Speed, Burnout Paradise, Call of Duty, etc), will be protected by Kali and sold for prices ranging from $9.99 to $24.99.
We can’t go into details of the agreement, but can say that Apple has offered us a very appealing deal. We hope that together we will be able to give all the “pirates” out there an adequate answer as well as provide consumers with transparent and unobtrusive protection system.
